The Parkers Prairie Panthers took on the Breckenridge Cowgirls in Breckenridge in a Section 6A-South Subsection Quarterfinal Matchup. The Panthers, after a quick start, could not keep up with an effective Cowgirl attack as the Cowgirls took a 50-24 lead into the halftime break and were able to cruise to a 79-46 final score.

“Tough way to end the season tonight,” commented Parkers Prairie Head Coach Hunter Haggenmiller. “We did not get off to the start we wanted to and never got comfortable. Credit to Breckenridge and best of luck to them the rest of the way. Tonight doesn’t highlight the growth though we have seen with this team from day one until now. This is a group that faced a lot of adversity and battled through it the entire time. With the loss ends our season and the careers of our two seniors, Hope Koep and Joey McKeown. Our program is grateful for their contributions and we wish them the best of luck in the future.”

Parker Yaggie led all scorers with 23 points. She was followed for Breckenridge by Emily Gowin with 20.

Evy Grinager led the Panthers with 20. She was followed by Joey McKeown with 12.

Breckenridge will play third-seeded West Central Area at 2:30pm on Saturday at Minnewaska Area High School in Glenwood.
