Battle Lake fell behind at halftime 41-32 in their non-conference road contest at Lake Park-Audubon on Monday night, however, the Battlers battled back strong, out-scoring the Raiders 33-20 in the second half and escaping with a 65-61 victory.  Battle Lake won the rebounding battle 39-33 and hit 43% (24-56) of their field goal attempts on the night.

"We didn't play our best game tonight but we got stops when we needed to and finished strong to give us the win,” stated Battle Lake Head Coach Brady Cameron.  “They used their size early in the game and we gave up some easy buckets inside before we changed things up and figured it out.  Jack Mekalson had himself a game offensively and helped get the guys in a rhythm late in the game and scored or assisted on many baskets late in the game.  Mason Dalluge had great defense again all night and had his usual stat stuffing night.  We can't play like we did tonight if we want to win in Henning on Friday."

Mekalson poured in 38 points, grabbed 4 rebound and dished out 2 assists to lead the Battlers.  Braxtyn Cameron added 11 points, 5 rebounds and a blocked shot, Dalluge had a team high 11 rebounds and finished with 7 points and 7 assists, and Aidan Heggem secured 8 rebounds. Maddox Mekalson chipped in with 7 points.

The Raiders had four players reach double digits, led by Colby Poegel with 23 points.  He completed his double-double by snagging 12 rebounds.  Luca Beske had 15, Tripp Eiter finished with 11 and Tyson Nerdahl contributed 10 points and a team high 3 assists.

Battle Lake (14-11, 8-8 LEC) has now won six straight games and 10 of their last 11.  They close out their regular season schedule at Henning on Friday night.
