Hornets Hold on for 2 Point Win Over Rockets at Target Center

Henning held on for a 69-67 victory over Underwood in a high school boys’ basketball game at Target Center on Saturday afternoon.  The Hornets led 38-25 at the half.  “We were fortunate to win today,” said Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “Underwood is a good team and they were really efficient in the second half, offensively.  We were awful defensively in the second half. But we got one big stop on the last possession with the game tied and converted a layup on the other end to pull out the win.”

 

 The Hornets made 44% (26-59) of their field goal attempts, while Underwood shot 50% (25-50).

Kale Misegades was the top scorer for Henning, with 32 points on 12-of-21 shooting.  He also had 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals.  Teigan Bjerke scored 21 points, had 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.  Lane Dilly came through with a team high 12 rebounds and also dished out 5 assists to go along with his 6 points.

Underwood was led by Drew Evavold with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists.  Hudson Risbrudt scored 19 points, had 4 rebounds and 2 assists.  Gavin Pausch led the rebounding effort with 9 boards, and also scored 5 points.

Henning (23-2) won their sixteenth straight game.  They will host Battle Lake in the regular season finale on Friday night.

Underwood (
