The Pelican Rapids boys’ basketball team held a 29-26 halftime lead on Ada-Borup/West, however, the Cougars took control in the second half and went on to post a 67-53 victory over the Vikings.

“Tough game this afternoon for us as we weren’t able to get anything going in the second half,” noted Head Coach John Gullingsrud.  “We made a three going into halftime and then hit another one to start the second half, but Ada-Borup/West took control from there as we struggled to string any stops together defensively, and were pretty sloppy on the offensive end as well.”

Miguel Torres netted 15 points to lead Pelican Rapids, while Timmy Guler contributed 12 and Grady Larson added 10.

The Cougars received 15 points from Mason Larson, 14 each from Cameron Spaeth and Cadyn Dahl, and a dozen from Austin McCraven.

Pelican Rapids (21-4, 10-2 HOL) had their six game winning streak snapped with the loss.  They will close out their regular season schedule with a game at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy on Friday.
