The WCA Knights used balanced scoring as they placed six players in double figures in a 75-60 win over the BOLD Warriors on Friday night. The win secured the West Central Conference championship making it the Knights fourth conference title in the past five years.

The Knights won the Pheasant Conference in 2020, 2021, and 2022 and this year won the West Central Conference Championship.  The conference standings currently sit at WCA 12-2, Sauk Centre 9-4, Morris 9-4, Montevideo 9-4, Melrose 8-5, BOLD 5-9, Minnewaska 2-12 and Benson 0-14.

Knights Coach Kraig Hunter said, "BOLD is a physical team that played well and shot the ball extremely well tonight.  Outside games vs the top five teams in our conference they are 14-1.  It was good for us to play vs a physical team in a tough, loud environment and withstand some good 3-point shooting. We loved how our guys scrapped and always responded and then put the game away."

The double figure scorers for the Knights were Mitch Dewey with 18 points, 2 rebounds, and a team leading 5 steals; Camden Anderson had another well rounded game with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals; Bryce Kjesbo had 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals; Sam Hanson had 11 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal; Ben Bye had a double double with 11 points, 12 rebounds, dished out 4 assists, and had 2 steals; Nas Dotts had 10 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals.  Owen Sanstead added a rebound and a blocked shot and Marshall Dewey had 1 assist.

Hunter added: "They were doubling Ben in the post more tonight and he did a good job of finding 3-point shooters as he had 4 assists and we made nine 3's.  Sam Hanson and Nas Dotts hit some big shots to help us start expanding our lead.  All of our guys did a good job on numerous hustle plays getting 50/50 balls."

Scoring for the Warriors were Jack Gross 18, Will Pankert 16, Owen Baumgarnter 12, Hudson Vosika 7, Mathew Jacobs 5, and Mav Kaufenerg 2.

The Knights 21-3 host Hancock in a Section game on Monday night.  BOLD is now 14-11.
