Pelican Rapids overcame a 28-25 halftime deficit to beat the Perham Yellowjackets 71-62 at the Hive on Friday night.  “It was a tale of two halves tonight,” reported Pelican Rapids Head Coach John Gullingsrud. “In the first half, Perham controlled the pace of the game and we didn’t do a very good job of looking for quality shots on offense. We were more active in the second half defensively, which got us going in transition and created easier looks at the basket for us.”

Timmy Guler led the Vikings with 20 points.  Miguel Torres and Charlie Larson each added 18 points.

Mason Happel scored a team high 19 to led Perham.  Blaiz Schmidt and Maddyx Swentik contributed 12 points apiece.

Pelican Rapids (21-3, 10-2 HOL) will host Ada-Borup West on Saturday afternoon and will finish their regular season schedule with a game at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy on Friday, March 1.

Perham (8-16, 4-8 HOL) closes out their regular season with a home game Monday against Thief River Falls.
