The Brandon-Evansville girls’ basketball team played their final regular season game on Thursday night in Benson.  “The girls struggled to get shots to fall over the first six minutes, missing ten of their first eleven shots, while Benson started off hot, burying the Chargers over the first 6 minutes, 18-3,” reported B-E Head Coach Stephen Schreiber.  “After a time to regroup, the Chargers found their energy through their pressure defense and ended the half on a 31-8 run.  They never looked back in the second half, scoring 43 more points to Benson’s 17, for a 77-43 win.”

Kylee Dingwall led the Chargers with 24 points.  Ava Santjer and Drea Fernholz were also in double digits with 24 and 12 points, respectively.  B-E also had Haddy Baune and Skylar Bitzan score 7 points each.

“This was a special team this year,” added Coach Schreiber.  “It’s rare to see a team improve by ten wins from the previous season.  The leadership by seniors Kylee Dingwall, Skylar Bitzan and Madison Anderson was phenomenal.  The amount of effort this group put in is a testament to how well the season went.  I couldn’t have asked for a better group of girls to lead and I’m sad that the regular season had to end.  We’re ready for playoffs though.  The girls are hungry and want more.  Hopes are high that we can make a solid run over the next couple of weeks!”

Brandon-Evansville finishes the regular season with a 19-7 overall record and a 12-6 mark in the Little Eight Conference.
