Fergus Falls had only 6 shots on goal through the first two periods of their consolation semifinal contest with Willmar on Thursday afternoon at the Tria Rink, as they trailed the Cardinals, 1-0, heading into the third period.  They proceeded to put 19 shots on the Willmar net through the third period and the two overtime sessions, compared to just 8 for the Cards, however, Willmar produced the game winner in the second overtime, winning 2-1 over the Otters.

A power play goal by Lauren Eilers at 15:55 of the opening period gave Willmar a 1-0 lead.  Assists went to Rebecca Dawson and Avery Olson.

Following a scoreless second period, Fergus Falls scored at 8:38 of the third when Aubree Nelson put the puck in the net, assisted by Mckenzie Sjolie.  Fergus Falls had a 10-1 shot advantage in the third period, with several high quality scoring opportunities foiled by goalie Erin Eilers who stopped 24-of-25 shots.  Ana Jyrkas had 23 saves for the Otters.

Dawson scored the game winner in the second OT with assists from Olson and Makenna Larson.

Fergus Falls finishes the season with a record of 15-13-1.  Eight of their losses were by a single goal, three of them to Willmar.
