For the third time this season the Fergus Falls boys’ hockey team shutout the Willmar Cardinals.  After winning by scores of 6-0 and 7-0 during the regular season, the Otters scored the only goals of the game in the third period to record a 2-0 win in the quarterfinal round of the Section 6A Tournament on Tuesday night.

Kellen Stenstrom, who has moved into fourth place on the all-time Otter scoring list, got both goals.  His first one came just 24 seconds into the third period, assisted by Jack Welde and Shane Zierden.  The second one was setup by a Zierden pass at 13:44.

Fergus Falls held a 46-19 advantage in shots on goal with Ryan Nelson stopping every shot he saw.  Willmar goalie Mason Thole kept his team in the game by stopping 4 of the 46 shots he faced.

Fergus Falls will now face Northern Lakes at 4:00pm Saturday in a Section 6A semifinal contest at the MAC in St. Cloud.
