Fergus Falls posted a 69-55 Central Lakes Conference girls’ basketball victory over Sauk Rapids-Rice on Tuesday night. The Otters shot 38% from the field, but made 15-of-22 free throws in the game. They also had 14 assisted baskets. Brynn Sternberg had a solid, all-around ballgame, leading the Otters with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Hattie Fullhart had 14 points and 4 boards, and Ruby Ellison continued her excellent play, turning in a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, to go along with 5 assists.
Fergus Falls held a 40-32 edge on the boards and Sauk Rapids-Rice finished with a shooting percentage of 39% in the game. The Otters had 14 turnovers compared to 19 for the Storm.
“I thought we played a solid first half and then ratcheted up the defensive pressure in the second half, creating some scoring off the pressure,” reported Head Coach Josh Steer. “We got a lot of kids involved in the offense as the game went on.”
