Pelican Rapids celebrated their six seniors on Senior Night, defeating Staples-Motley by the score of 62-43.  The Vikings held a 32-21 halftime lead on the Cardinals.  “It was fun to recognize Brody Seter, Ethan Sjostrom, Esteban Garza, Timmy Guler, Luke Sjolie, and Josh Bakken before the game and see them all on the court tonight as they are a great group of young men that have done a good job of leading our basketball program this season.”

Treyvon Benson was the lone Viking in double digits, scoring 11 points.  Charlie Larson, Timmy Guler, Luke Sjolie and Jack Welch each had 8 points.

Alex Schultz led Staples-Motley with 14 and Eli Rutten finished with a dozen.

“Defensively, we did a nice job tonight of rotating and not giving them too many open looks from three as they put a lot of shooters on the floor,” commented Head Coach John Gullingsrud of the Vikings. “We weren’t as sharp on the offensive end as we’d like to be, but we had some stretches where the ball moved well and we took good shots.”

Pelican Rapids (20-3, 9-2 HOL) will clash in Perham on Friday night.  The Vikings will host Ada-Borup/West on Saturday at 5:30pm
