“It was a special night tonight as we got to recognize our programs’ seniors,” stated Hawley Head Coach Nate Stoa. “Special thanks to Brevin Stoa, Jack Justesen, Landon Bakke and Davaun Stock for all of their hard work through their years in the program. It has been special to see them grow into fine young men.”
One of the highlights of the night for the Nuggets and their fans was the return of Davaun Stock to the lineup. Stock sustained an ACL injury in football. He returned to the court on Senior Night and knocked down a three-pointer for the final basket of the game.
Lake Park-Audubon was led by Luca Beske with 20, Tyson Nerdahl with 14 and Colby Poegel with 13.
“After a week off and a week of sickness where we didn’t have any full varsity practices, it was good to be back to playing again,” said Coach Stoa. “Tonight, our guys did what they needed to do early, pushed the ball and found open guys both inside and around the arc. Lake Park is a well-coached squad that plays hard, and they made plays in the second half. We weren’t quite sharp enough to respond and we let them close the lead down late. Thankfully, we had opened up a large enough gap in the first to withstand the run.”
Hawley (11-10, 5-5 HOL) travels to Breckenridge on Thursday and plays at Barnesville on Friday to close out the Heart O’ Lakes Conference schedule.
