The Border West boys’ basketball team led 25-21 at halftime on Friday night in Hancock, however, the Owls fought back strong in the second half. The Buccaneers were able to hold on for a thrilling 57-56 victory, improving their season record to 10-12 and their Little Eight Conference mark to 7-8.
Holden Rinke (19 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists), Nolan Wilson (15 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists) and Kyle Kremer (10 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists) led the Bucs. Gunnar Hoffman added 7 points and 3 blocked shots.
The Buccaneers will close out conference play at Rothsay on Tuesday night.
Hancock (10-12, 7-8 LEC) will end Little Eight Conference play in Evansville on Tuesday against the Brandon-Evansville Chargers.
