Battle Lake shot 68.6% (35-51) from the field, made 59% (10-17) of their 3’s and held a commanding 30-16 advantage on the boards Friday night as they dominated their Senior Night game against Bertha-Hewitt, winning 86-47. The Battler hit an amazing 73.5% (25-34) of their two-point field goals in the game.
"Our guys put on a show tonight for Senior Night,” commented Head Coach Brady Cameron. “We shot the ball well shooting 69% from the floor, had 24 assists on 35 made shots, and got all 12 guys in the game. Our seniors did a good job of filling the stat sheet tonight. Jack Mekalson led all scorers with 25 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists, and 3 steals. Mason Dalluge had 11 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and 5 blocks. Aidan Buehler had 5 points, 2 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 block. Braydon Davis shot the ball well with 6 points on 2/5 shooting from 3 and he had a rebound. It was good for our seniors to go out with a bang being this was our final regular season home game."
Maddox Mekalson (18 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals) and Braxtyn Cameron (12 points, 4 assists, 3 steals) also contributed for the Battlers.
Preston Miller (16 points, 3 assists, 2 steals), Aidan Bauch (16 points) and Brady Rach (9 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists) led the Bears.
Battle Lake (11-11, 7-8 LEC) will travel to Fergus Falls to face Hillcrest in a Little Eight Conference contest on Tuesday night.
Bertha-Hewitt (13-11, 6-7 PRC) goes to Henning to face the Hornets on Tuesday night in their Park Region Conference finale.
