Spartan Men Come Up 2 Points Short in Battle with Rochester

The M State Men's Basketball team came up 2 points short in a battle with Rochester on Saturday afternoon.  The Yellowjackets improved their record to 17-8 overall and 12-1 against MCAC Southern Division teams with a 65-63 victory over the Spartans.

 

Javin Tindall led the Spartans with 18 points and had 3 steals.  Khamani Steckler delivered a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds, to go along with 3 blocked shots.  Diamond McGill made 8-of-14 shots, finishing with 16 points and 3 steals.  Belind Alemadi led the team with 5 assists.  M State made 40% (27-67) of their field goal attempts.

Rochester shot 49% (27-55) from the field and won the battle of the boards, 37-28.  They were led by Jamison Lien (15 points, 4 steals), Blue Smaller (14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks), Obinna Izoura (13 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists) and Laden Nerison (11 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists).

M State (13-13, 5-8 MCAC South) will finish their season with a road game at St. Cloud on Wednesday.
