The Buccaneers shot 42.6% (23-54) and the Chargers made 36.4% (20-55) of their field goal attempts.  Border West also held a 37-32 edge on the boards.  Brandon-Evansville capitalized on 15 Border West turnovers, turning them into 22 points.

“We came out very flat and were down 15-6 after the first 4 minutes of the game,” said Head Coach Trent Hintermeister of B-E. “After a timeout we started to play the way we wanted to and were able to take the lead and keep it the rest of the way. This was a very important game as far as playoff implications so I'm glad we were able to get the win. We have opportunities to control our own destiny as far as playoff seeding goes based on our next 5 games. We play all section opponents including 4 out of the 5 of them being subsection games. This time of year is always fun in high school basketball.” 

Leaders for Border West were Holden Rinke (16 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, 3 assists), Kyle Kremer (14 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists) and Nolan Wilson (10 points, 3 assists).  Tayton Schmidt had a team high 13 rebounds and finished with 6 points.

Brandon-Evansville (12-9, 9-5 LEC) goes to Moorhead on Friday to face Park Christian School in a non-conference contest.

Border West (9-12, 6-8 LEC) travels to Hancock for a Little Eight Conference game on Friday night.
