Fergus Falls traveled to Cold Spring on Tuesday night to face the Rocori Spartans in a Central Lakes Conference girls’ basketball contest.  The Otters trailed 24-22 at the half.  They battled back to take a 12 point lead in the second half and then held on for a 46-42 victory.  The Otters shot 30% from the field and made 22% of their 3-point shots.  Rocori hit just 28% of their shots from the floor and only 11% from 3-point range.

“I thought our defense played really well, especially in the second half,” said Head Coach Josh Steer of the Otters.  “We limited their perimeter game and forced them to get the ball inside.  Offensively, we had too many turnovers, which limited our offensive opportunities.”

Fergus Falls was led by Brynn Sternberg (18 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals) and Ruby Ellison (12 points, 4 rebounds).  Carlee Hirst added 7 points and 7 rebounds, and Julia Hajicek contributed 7 points.

Fergus Falls (15-8, 6-5 CLC) travels to Willmar for a 3:45pm contest on Saturday.
