Parkers Prairie made the trip to Rothsay Tuesday night for their final Little Eight Conference game of the season. The Panthers took a 27-25 lead into the break and were able to keep that lead the rest of the way, bringing a 66-57 win back home with them.

“Fun night tonight in Rothsay,” said Panthers Head Coach Hunter Haggenmiller. “The girls made a lot of mistakes in the first half we knew we could correct and they did. They hit some big time shots in the second half and knocked free throws down when it mattered. Defensive effort was consistent all night long and was just what we needed.”

Ellie Koep led Parkers Prairie with 22, followed by Hayley Johnson with 10.

Savannah Sullivan led the Tigers with 26 points. Bethany Danielson was also in double figures with 12.

“It was a tough night for us, defensively,” commented Head Coach Anita Heier of Rothsay.  “We were a step slow on our rotations and didn’t get a hand in the face of their shooters.  Parkers Prairie shot the ball well and we just couldn’t match their offensive execution.  I thought we played hard, but Parkers Prairie was the better team tonight.”

Parkers Prairie will look for their third win this week come Friday, when they travel to Clarissa to take on the Browerville/Eagle Valley Tigers.

Rothsay (13-11, 8-9 LEC) close out their Little Eight Conference season with a home game against Wheaton/Herman-Norcross on Thursday night.
