The Perham girls basketball team went into Frazee and emerged with a 64-45 win. The score may make it a bit deceiving, as this wasn’t a quick blowout, the Jackets were only up by 2 at the half. Frazee did a good job of keeping Perham off balance and they hit enough timely shots to keep it close. Kaia Anderson led the Jackets with 12 points on 4 made threes in the half.

Perham dominated the second half from the get go, clamping down on defense and controlling the glass.  Anderson and Cora Grismer hit shots early in the 2nd frame and then great interior passing led to Willow Thiel buckets. The lead got pushed out to about 25 points before both sides subbed JV girls in at the end of the game.

Perham ended up being led by Thiel’s 19 points and 11 rebounds. Anderson added 16 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Grismer chipped in 15 points.

Jayden Sonnenberg scored 15 to lead the Hornets and she was joined in double figures by Brynn Larson with a dozen.

The win moved Perham to 19-3 and set up next Thursday’s matchup with the state ranked Pelican Rapids Vikings as a huge game which will determine the HOL conference championship. But first the Yellowjackets play host to the Detroit Lakes Lakers on Tuesday and will celebrate Junior Jackets throughout the night!

Frazee (9-11) will travel to Park Rapids for a non-conference game on Tuesday and return home for a HOL game against DGF on Thursday.
