The WCA Knights jumped out to a 33-7 lead over Ashby on Friday night in Barrett. They led 42-16 at the half and went on to post a 76-49 win improving their season record to 17-3.

The Knights were able to play all 14 of their players and get ten different players in the scoring column.

Scoring for the Knights were Bryce Kjesbo 20, Ben Bye 16, Mitch Dewey 7, Cam Anderson 7, Carter Kjesbo 6, Cash Nelson 5, Marshall Dewey 5, Sam Hanson 5, Brady Lindquist 3, and Owen Sanstead 2

Anderson and Bye led the rebounding effort with 7 apiece with Mitch Dewey adding 4.  Dewey led the team in assists with 4 and steals with 5.  Anderson and Hanson each added 3 assists, and Bryce Kjesbo added 4 steals.

Traeton Nelson led the Arrows in scoring with 16 second half points.  Easton Nelson added 11.  Kellen Dahlen contributed 10 points and snared 11 rebounds for a double-double.  Jake Norby came close to also recording a double-double with 9 points and 10 boards.  Ashby was ice cold from the field making just 27% (14/52) of their attempts.

"We got off to a very poor start," commented Ashby Head Coach John Holsten. "The Knights shot, guarded, screened, cut, and passed the ball better than we did.  WCA really has no apparent weaknesses."

The Knights 17-3 will travel to take on one of the Section 8AA favorites, the 14-6 Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines on Tuesday.

Ashby is now 8-13 and will travel to Verndale on Monday night and to Battle Lake on Tuesday.
