The Hancock girls’ basketball team made 13-of-24 shots from 3-point range on Thursday night as they remained unbeaten in Little Eight Conference play with a 78-73 victory over the Underwood Rockets. The game was tied 38-38 at the half. “We need to do a better job of defending the 3-pointer,” commented Underwood Head Coach Brian Hovland. “Disappointing loss, but we played a very good team tough on the road.”
Liz Lukken led the Rockets with 25 points. Kallyn Grove registered a double-double (13 points, 15 rebounds) and recorded 6 blocks. Mily Albjerg and Ezrah Baker pitched in with 8 apiece.
No Hancock stats were reported.
Hancock (21-1, 15-0 LEC) has won fourteen straight games. They will begin a stretch of three road games in a row when they head to Wheaton on Tuesday night.
Underwood (18-3, 14-2 LEC) will host Hillcrest Lutheran Academy on Tuesday and Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on Thursday.
