Nanson Stops 48 of 50 Shots but Otters Fall to River Lakes 2-1

River Lakes bombarded the Fergus Falls net with 50 shots on Thursday night.  Tim Nanson was superb in goal, stopping 48 of them, however, the Otters only managed one goal on 17 shots and River Lakes took a 2-1 victory at the Paynesville Arena.

 

“Following a scoreless first period, River Lakes got on the scoreboard when Parker Welz scored at 6:27 from Chase Wright and Brandon Carlson.  Fergus Falls tied the game with a power play goal from Griffin Babolian at 13:39.  Assists went to Shane Zierden and Kellen Stenstrom.

A third period goal by Griffin Mayhew at 14:34, assisted by Jace Griffin, proved to be the game winner for the Stars.

Fergus Falls (7-16) will host Sauk Rapids-Rice on Friday night.
