Timmy Guler scored 19 and Jack Welch added 18 to lead Pelican Rapids to a 78-53 Heart O’ Lakes Conference boys’ basketball win over Frazee Thursday night on the Vikings home floor. Miguel Torres was also in double figures with a dozen. Pelican Rapids (16-3, 8-2 HOL) has a home game against Mahnomen/Waubun on Friday night.
“It was a bit of a slow start for us tonight as we struggled for the first nine minutes of the game to find our rhythm on offense,” noted Head Coach John Gullingsrud. “We closed the first half well though to build our halftime lead and were able to maintain it into the second half.”
Leaders for Frazee were Adam Vigen and Alex Helmers with 17 points apiece.
The Hornets (5-14) play at Park Rapids Area on Tuesday.
