Otter Girls put 61 Shots on Goal in 6-0 Playoff Win Over Prairie Center

Fergus Falls put 61 shots on goal Thursday night as they shutout Prairie Centre 6-0 in the semifinal round of the Section 6A Girls Hockey Tournament at the Community Arena in Fergus Falls.  Prairie Centre had only 7 shots on the Fergus Falls net.  Northern Lakes shutout Morris/Benson Area 7-0 in the other semifinal, setting up a Section championship match between Fergus Falls and Northern Lakes on Tuesday night at 7:00pm in Alexandria.

 

Aubree Nelson’s unassisted goal at 14:48 of the first period gave the Otters a 1-0 lead as Kennedy Lemke was outstanding in goal for Prairie Centre, stopping 21 first period shots.

The Otters got it going in period two, scoring 3 goals.  Hannah Johnson started the scoring just 58 seconds into the period, with an assist from Averie Tonneson.  At 8:15, Tonneson scored from Johnson and Maddie BrimhallMaggie Greenagel made it 4-0 at 13:40, with Ella Starzl assisting.

Brinly Shol added an unassisted goal at 4:17 of the third period and Starzl scored from Rachel Debrito at 11:02 to close out the scoring.
