Ellie Welch recorded career point number 1000 on Tuesday night as the Pelican Rapids girls’ basketball team held off Barnesville for a 62-59 Heart O’ Lakes Conference victory.  Welch registered a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds.  Teammate Morgan Korf also had a double-double with 25 points and 13 rebounds.  Korf led the team with 7 assists and 3 steals.  Ari Hovland was also in double digits with 14 points.

Pelican Rapids (20-2, 10-1 HOL) has a 6:00pm game in Crookston on Thursday against the Pirates, a Section 8AA opponent.
