Roseau Girls Use 4 Goal Second Period to Defeat Lady Cards, 7-4

Roseau used a 4 goal second period to defeat Alexandria, 7-4, in a non-conference girls’ hockey contest on Friday night at the Runestone Arena.  The Rams put 35 shots on goal and the Cardinals managed 27 shots on goal in the game.

 

Jasmine Hovda got Roseau on the board at 3:06 of the opening period, with assists from Greta Hedlund and Ella Ketring.  Alexandria tied the game at 9:41 when Maya Wagner converted, assisted by Lillian Dutton and Emma Ramstorf.  Ketring gave Roseau a 2-1 lead at 13:34 with Hovda assisting, and the lady Cards got the equalizer at 16:22 from Ramstorf on the power play.  Dutton and Sophia Korynta assisted on the goal.

Second period goals for Roseau came from Ketring (Kylie Bjerk), Tatum Treteau (Karina Christianson, Summer Byfuglien), Byfuglien (Payton Remick, Hovda) on the power play, and Lily Erickson (Hovda, Jerrett Tietz).

Trailing 6-2 entering the third period, Alexandria scored goals at 3:08 and 5:00 to pull within two.  Kylie Lattimer scored the first one from Dutton and Lauren Hornstein, and Cadence Ellingson notched the second one from Ramstorf and Korynta.  Remick’s power play goal for Roseau at 7:35 was assisted by Hovda and Erickson, making the score 7-4. 

Alexandria finishes the regular season with a record of 13-11-1.
