The Ashby Boys Basketball Team turned in one of its better performances of the season in defeating the Hancock Owls 66-42.  Ashby led 31-24 at the first half break.

Point guard Easton Nelson was the game's leading scorer netting 22 points.  Three more Arrows reached double figures.  Kellen Dahlen scored 13 first half points.  Richie Johnson and Traeton Nelson added 10 points apiece.

The Arrows shot 47% (28/59) from the field and 55% (6/11) from the free throw line.

"The team showed good activity on defense and the benefits of moving the ball offensively," said Head Coach John Holsten of the Arrows.  "All six played with energy.  Two qualifying for individual shout-outs are Kellen Dahlen who was terrific at both ends of the gym and Easton Nelson who is playing the point guard position at a very high level.  There were also many deflected passes making it difficult for the Owls to have any flow to their offense."

Ashby improves their Little Eight Conference mark to 5-7 and overall record to 8-11.  They travel to Graceville Tuesday night for a conference match-up against Border West.

Chase Evink (12 points), Brayden Kisgen (10 points, 5 rebounds) and Hudson VerSteeg (7 points, 9 rebounds) led the Owls.  The Arrows held the Owls to 33% (16-48) shooting in the game.

Hancock (9-8) will host Parkers Prairie on Tuesday and will travel to Rothsay on Friday.
