The Underwood boys’ basketball team hosted Parkers Prairie in a Little Eight Conference contest on Friday night.  The Rockets led 41-22 at the half, however, the Panthers cut the lead to 8 midway through the second half.  Underwood was able to regain control and went on to post an 86-61 victory.

“The first half was one of our better defensive halves we have played,” stated Head Coach Kellen Shebeck of the Rockets.  “Second half, Parkers came out playing very well and cut the lead to 8.  I’m very proud of how the guys withstood the rush and made a big run of their own right afterwards to push the lead back to around 15 to 17 points.  It was fun to see senior Kyle Savage score his first career varsity basket, a 3-pointer, at the end of the game.”

Hudson Risbrudt led the Rockets with 25 points and 7 rebounds.  Drew Evavold contributed a double-double with 20 points, including 4 3’s, and 11 rebounds.  He also added 4 assists.  Owen Harig scored 13 points, Kaleb Hammes provided 8 points and 3 assists, and Evan Lundgren chipped in with7 points.

Underwood (10-9, 6-6 LEC) will play at Battle Lake on Tuesday.

Parkers Prairie (7-10, 4-8 LEC) is at Hancock on Tuesday.
