Pelican Rapids led Breckenridge 44-25 at halftime on Friday night in their HOL boys’ basketball contest. The Vikings went on to post a 76-42 victory over the Cowboys. “Nice win at home for us,” said Pelican Rapids Head Coach John Gullingsrud. “We came out and established control early in the game and overall played with good energy from start to finish.”
Timmy Guler scored a game high 21 points, while Jack Welch added 14 and Miguel Torres chipped in with 11.
Beau Beyer led the Cowboys with 13, Cooper Roberts had 12, and Aiden Sanchez contributed 11 points.
The Cowboys, who have lost 14 in a row, are back in action on Tuesday night as they travel to Fergus Falls to face Hillcrest.
Pelican Rapids (15-2) won for a fourth straight time. They will play Sauk Centre at Alexandria Area High School at noon on Saturday.
