Battle Lake and Parkers Prairie left it all out on the floor Saturday night when they got together for a Little Eight Conference boys’ basketball match.  The two teams were tied at 36-all at the half and the Battlers finished with a hard fought two point win, 66-64.  Battle Lake shot 43% (22-51) from the field and Parkers Prairie hit 39% (25-64) of their field goal attempts.  The Battlers outscored the Panthers 17-3 on the free throw line as the Panthers committed 19 fouls compared to 9 for Battle Lake.

Jack Mekalson had a game high 23 points.  Mason Dalluge finished with a double-double (20 points, 10 rebounds) and blocked two shots.  Braxtyn Cameron had 14 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists.

Cohen Noska led Parkers Prairie with 19 points, 10 rebounds and a pair of assists.  Dylan Debilzen finished with15 points, 4 assists and 2 steals, and Nolan Steidl had 12 points.  Dominic Reiman dished out 3 assists and Chavous Wendt contributed 9 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists.

"Tonight was a true LEC battle,” stated Battle Lake Head Coach Brady Cameron.  “This conference is very even from top to bottom and anyone can beat anyone night in and night out.  It is always good to get a road conference victory.  Our guys battled all night and after struggling to get stops at times in the 1st half we came out playing better defense in the second half and strung together some stops to get us a lead.  Offensively we did a nice job of taking care of the ball, Braxtyn Cameron did a nice job of exploiting mismatches and getting some easy buckets in the post over smaller defenders, Jack Mekalson was aggressive to the basket and got some tough buckets all night, Mason Dalluge did his thing tonight with 22 points and 10 rebounds with 9 of those rebounds coming in the second half, Max Mekalson had a huge offensive rebound off a missed FT in the last minute.  We missed some FT's late in the game that could have cost us if it wasn't for us getting stops and that offensive board by Max.  We need to learn how to finish games better at the FT line.  Next week is another tough week with 2 big LEC road games at Hancock and B/E."
