Otter Wrestlers Finish 5th at MNGWL Region 8 Individual State Qualifier

Fergus Falls finished fifth out of eighteen teams at the MNGWL Region 8 Individual State Qualifier on Saturday.  “Fergus Falls had 10 of 15 weight classes filled and placing fifth was a dominant performance by our wrestlers,” stated Otter Head Coach Adam Schlepp.  “Coaches Lucas Oliphant and Seth Langbehn were present in Mahnomen today with the 7th through 9th graders.  Seven of our ten wrestlers placed in the top 6 in their weight classes.”

Caleb Fronning won the individual state championship at 132 pounds in 2023 and is looking to win another title at 145 pounds in 2024.  “It was a good day,” noted Coach Oliphant.  “We saw great improvement from all our wrestlers.  Seven placed and three will be going to Champlin Park on February 3 to compete in the 7th through 9th grade state tournament.”
