Alexandria put 44 shots on the Willmar net on Thursday night and recorded a 4-0 Central Lakes Conference girls’ hockey victory. Hunter Sellnow was unbeatable in the Alexandria goal, stopping all 15 shots she faced. After a scoreless first period, the Cardinals scored a pair of second period goal and added two more in the third.
Skylar Thorson scored the first goal of the game at 11:09 of the second period with assists going to Lillian Dutton and Kylie Lattimer. Lauren Hornstein’s goal at 16:05, setup by Lattimer, made it 2-0 heading to the third period.
Maya Wagner scored from Emma Ramstorf at 9:06 of the third and Julia Doherty scored, also from Ramstorf, at 16:20.
Alexandria (12-10) will host Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Saturday at 7:15pm at the Runestone Arena.
