The Henning boys’ basketball team shot the ball at a 56% (32-57) clip on Tuesday night as they defeated Menahga 83-42 in Henning.  The Hornets made 8-of-20 (40%) 3-point field goals and hit 11-of-14 (78%) free throws.  They also recorded 22 assists on the night and had only 7 turnovers.  The Hornets held a 32-21 edge on the boards.

“This was a good Park Region Conference win,” said Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “We jumped out early and stretched our lead as the game moved along. We’re starting to move the ball better offensively which leads to a lot of guys getting involved on that end of the floor.”

Kale Misegades (25 points, 5 assists, 4 steals), Teigan Bjerke (15 points, 5 assists), Noah Umland (13 points, 4 blocks), Logan Kostelecky (11 points, 8 rebounds) and Lane Dilly (9 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals) all contributed to the Hornets victory.

Bodie Berttunen led the Braves with 14 points, 3 assists and 2 steals, while Brayden Aho finished with 11 points.  Carder Jettman added 8 points for Menahga.

Henning (15-2) recorded their eighth straight victory.  They will travel to Pillager for a girl/boy double header on Thursday night.

Menahga (5-10) travels to Verndale on Thursday and to Bertha-Hewitt on Friday.
