Area wrestlers competed at the Prowler Girls Wrestling Invite in Thief River Falls on Saturday. Two wrestlers from United North Central won championships, Sophie Johnson in the 102-112 weight class and Hattie Hanninen in the 147-153 weight division.
Wadena-Deer Creek had a champion, Charli Snyder, in the 119-126 pound weight class. The Wolverines also had runner-up finishes from Naveya McManigle (124-129), Kaylee Endres (124-132), Chloe Hammes (153-167) and Ella Wegscheid (168-183).
In the 113-119 pound weight class, Ava Ness of Barnesville placed second, recording 2 pins on the day.
Ashia Schulke (145-148) and Chloe Black (127-138), wrestling for Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale/Parkers Prairie, finished 3rd and 4th, in their respective weight classes.
