Pelican Rapids led Perham 32-26 at the half on Friday night and the Vikings were able to maintain their lead throughout the second half, posting a 61-56 victory.  Timmy Guler led Pelican with 16 points and Miguel Torres joined him in double figures with 11 points.  Treyvon Benson and Charlie Larson added 9 points each.

“We started out the game well and held a 27-12 lead with six minutes to go in the first half, but we lost track of their shooters and Perham was able to close the gap at the half,” reported Pelican Rapids Head Coach John Gullingsrud.  “The second half was tight throughout as both teams took turns hitting big shots to keep the game close.  We were able to finally string some stops together defensively in the last five minutes and also got a few buckets to drop to come away with a hard fought win.”

Ashton Detloff led four Yellowjackets in double digits with 13 points.  Brandon Sandberg and Mason Happel each scored 11 and Blaiz Schmidt contributed 10 points.

Pelican Rapids (12-2, 4-2 HOL) will play at Hawley next Thursday.

Perham (4-10, 2-4 HOL) has a road game against DGF on Thursday night.
