Rocket Girls Establish 35-8 Halftime Lead in 49-13 Win Over Ashby

A 24 point first half run gave the Underwood girls’ basketball team a 28-2 lead over the Ashby Arrows.  The Rockets extended their lead to 35-8 at the half and finished the game with a 49-13 victory.  The win was the fourth in a row for Underwood and puts their record at 13-2 overall and 12-1 in the Little Eight Conference.

 

Senior Liz Lukken had all 15 of her points in the first half, leading all scorers. Kallyn Grove added 8 points and blocked 3 shots.  Mily Albjerg and Ezrah Baker each contributed 7 points.

Sisters Chloe Finkelson (8) and BrookeLinn Finkelson (5) scored all of the points for the Arrows with Chloe scoring all 8 of her points in the first half and BrookeLinn scoring all 5 of her points in the second half.

Underwood will host Wheaton/Herman-Norcross on Tuesday and will travel to Rothsay on Thursday.

Ashby is at Rothsay Tuesday and at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy in Fergus Falls on Thursday.
