Brandon-Evansville recorded a 74-56 Little Eight Conference boys’ basketball victory over Ashby on Tuesday night.  Tanner Riedel and Micah Fuller led the way with 22 and 21 points, respectively, while Carter White joined them in double figures with 13 points.  “I though Ashby fought really hard and kept the game close,” commented B-E Head Coach Trent Hintermeister.  “The score doesn’t reflect how close this game was throughout the night.  We had multiple players step up and fill their role nicely.  Any time we can get a conference win is a good night.”

Riley Perleberg had a solid all-around game for the Chargers with 9 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists.  Riedel added 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals, Fuller snared 6 rebounds and Dustin Gillespie collected 7 boards.  B-E won the rebounding battle, 44-41.  The Chargers hit 41.4% of their field goal attempts, while Ashby was held to 30% shooting.

Ashby Junior point guard Easton Nelson led all scorers with 24 points.  Jake Norby chipped in 10.  Kellen Dahlen and Traeton Nelson both had 9 points.  Fred Schlotfeld and Richie Johnson each contributed a bucket.

The Arrows shot 32% (19/60) from the field and a season best 86% (12/14) from the free throw line.  Norby, Easton Nelson, and Dahlen grabbed 9, 8, and 7 boards, respectively.

"We didn't start either half well," noted Ashby Head Coach John Holsten.  "Baskets came on only one of our first 12 possessions of the game and just one of 11 possessions to begin the second half.  At the end they wore us down with their energy and skills."

Brandon-Evansville (8-2, 5-0 LEC) has won five straight games as they prepare to travel to Hancock on Thursday night.  The Chargers will face Hillcrest Lutheran Academy at Target Center in downtown Minneapolis on Saturday at 12:45pm.

Ashby (5-8, 3-4 LEC) has a home game with Parkers Prairie on Thursday.
