Fergus Falls hosted Willmar in a Central Lakes Conference dual swim meet on Thursday and the Otters were able to hold off the Cardinals for a 91-89 win. In the JV meet the Otters won 61-33.
“We thought it would be a close meet tonight and it doesn't get much closer than coming down to the last relay,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Randy Hansen. “It was a nice win for the boys and affirmation of all the hard work they have put in so far. I thought Jaden Kwapinski had a great night with a great time in the 100 free and a solid time drop in the 200 IM. Landon Votava dropped over 6 seconds in the 500 free for a much needed 2nd place in the event. All three of our A relays also posted their best times of the year so far.”
“I really thought our JV swimmers had a great meet,” noted Coach Hansen. “Lots of our 9th graders had huge time drops. Sam Rasmussen in the 200 free, Riley Anderson and Zach Johnson in the 100 Back, Isaac Rott swam the 500 for the first time ever and did great. Armon Jefferson had a solid drop in the 50 free. 7th grader Lucas Tuel posted two season best swims in the 200 IM and 100 Fly.
