Hornets Hold Eagles to 10 Second Half Points in 74-32 Win

The Henning Hornets were in control from start to finish against New York Mills on Thursday night.  Henning led 40-22 at the half and held the Eagles to 10 second half points as they registered a 74-32 victory.  “Fun night in front of a nice crowd,” reported Head Coach Randy Misegades. “We did what we need to do to secure the win. It was great to see so many elementary kids wearing orange and black in attendance as we hosted our youth night and autograph session.” 

 

Kale Misegades (26 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals), Noah Umland (17 points) and Teigan Bjerke (15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists) were the statistical leaders for the Hornets.  Lane Dilly and Logan Kostelecky each grabbed 6 rebounds and Kostelecky had 6 points.  Dilly also had 4 assists and a pair of steals.  Henning hit 47% (26-55) of their field goal attempts and made 6-of-15 (40%) 3’s.  Henning won the rebounding battle 36-16.

Leaders for New York Mills were Braxton Ehnert (11 points), Teagan Lausten (8 points) and Sam Kopveiler (5 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks).  Mills shot just 27% (11-40) from the field.

The Hornets have a huge test on Saturday vs. Ada-Borup West. “We are excited for the challenge against a phenomenal team,” Added Coach Misegades.
