Henning Shoots 62% with 5 in Double Figures

Henning dominated their home game with Verndale on Tuesday night as they rolled to a 50-10 halftime lead on the way to an 87-32 victory over the Pirates. “Nice effort from our guys tonight,” said Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “We were solid on the defensive end and were balanced again on offense.” 

 

Henning shot the lights out, hitting 62% (39-62) of their field goal attempts and making 6-of-16 3’s for 37%.  Five players reached double figures, led by Kale Misegades with 22, Teigan Bjerke with 15 and Noah Umland with 14.  Logan Kostelecky and Lane Dilly added 12 and 10 points, respectively.  Rebound leaders with Dilly and Kostelecky with 7 apiece.  Misegades had a team high 5 steals and Dilly added four.  Bjerke distributed a team leading 8 assists and 3 players, Misegades, Umland and Kostelecky had 5 assists each.

Henning had 19 steals and assisted on 26 made baskets in the game.  They also held a 30-17 advantage on the boards and blocked 5 shots, led by Umland with 2.

Verndale was led by Jaden Schulke with 11 points, 4 rebounds and a pair of steals.  The Pirates were held to 27% (10-37) and turned the ball over 24 times.

Henning has a 10-2 overall record and they are undefeated in five Park Region Conference games.  They will host New York Mills on Thursday and will travel to Ada on Saturday for a game with Ada-Borup/West.

The Pirates play at Bertha-Hewitt on Friday.
