Alexandria Boys put 51 Shots on Fergus Falls Net in 5-1 Victory

Alexandria put 51 shots on the Fergus Falls net Tuesday night as the Cardinals posted a 5-1 victory over the Otters in a Central Lakes Conference boys’ hockey contest at the Runestone Arena.  Fergus Falls managed just 23 shots on goal.  Brady Metcalf made 22 saves in the Alexandria net, while Ryan Nelson had 46 stops in the Otter net.

 

Alexandria took a 1-0 lead at 7:50 of the opening period on a goal by William Thornburg, assisted by Grady Olson.  At 12:07, Brody Berg’s goal gave the Cards a 2-0 lead. Assists were awarded to Aidan Schneiderhan and Jack Lamski

The Cardinals made it a 3-0 lead with a goal from Grady Suchy at 1:05 in the second period.  Kasen Muscha and Evan Klimek assisted on the goal.

Klimek scored from Evan Anderson and Muscha at 1:31 of the third, giving Alexandria a 4-0 advantage.  Fergus Falls got on the board at 11:26 when Shane Zierden scored from Riley McGovern and Kellen Stenstrom.  Evan Anderson wrapped up the scoring at 12:03 with an assist from Lamski.

Fergus Falls (4-9) will play at St. Cloud on Thursday.

Alexandria (5-7-1) hosts Academy of Holy Angels on Saturday at 1:30pm.
