The Lady Arrows were in action at home Friday night looking for their first win against a Little Eight Conference opponent, the Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley Wolverines. It was a very physical game with several jump balls and Free Throw’s attempted. CGB went home with a win, defeating Ashby 71-41.

The Arrows applied some full court pressure that caused the Wolverine to turn the ball over and our aggressiveness around the basket tonight was much better. We need to a better job of getting ourselves into good rebounding position and turning the opponents turnovers into points.

The Arrows were led by senior BrookeLinn Finkelson with her first double-double of the year. Brooke had 21 points, 14 rebounds, 7 blocks, 3 steals, and 2 assists, Chloe Finkelson had 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals, Lily Balgaard chipped in 6 points, grabbed 3 rebounds, and had 2 steals, Senior Ashley Paulson was very active on defense tonight as she had 5 points, 3 steals, and 3 rebounds, Mia Thompson added 2 assists and 2 steals, Kaitlyn Finkelson rounded out the scoring with 2 points. The team continues to make strides. We are working on patience, making good passes and not desperation passes.

The Arrows are back in action on Tuesday against the Battlers in Battle Lake.
