The Underwood boys’ basketball team held a slim 41-40 lead at the half, however, Bertha-Hewitt was able to pick up a high scoring, hard fought, 85-83 victory over the Rockets on Tuesday night in Bertha. Drew Evavold and Hudson Risbrudt had 27 points each for Underwood and Evan Lundgren added 10. No Bertha-Hewitt scoring was reported.
‘We came out with the intensity and attitude we have been waiting to see,” commented Underwood Head Coach Kellen Shebeck. “Offensively we played very efficiently, and sound defense. We gave up too many offensive rebounds, which has been a bit of our issue this year. We are a small team, and need to fight for every rebound.”
Underwood (3-4) will host Battle Lake on Thursday.
Bertha-Hewitt (6-4) travels to Sebeka on Thursday and will host Ashby on Friday night.
