The Fergus Falls boys’ basketball team won their Holiday Basketball Tournament title with a 74-58 win over Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta on Friday night.  The Otters jumped out to a 16-0 lead and never looked back.  On the offensive end, Fergus Falls recorded 20 assisted baskets on the night.  Once again, Henry Bethel led the way with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Ryan Hirst had 10 points and Levi King dished out 5 assists.  Luke Pearson and Hayden Knick each contributed 9 points on 3 made 3’s.

“I was proud of our team effort,” stated Head Coach Matt Johnson.  “We were able to jump out to that 16-0 lead thanks to really solid defensive intensity.  We got a great effort from Levi King and I thought Jack Ratz had his best game of the season.  It has been fun to watch different players step up each night for us.”

Henry Bethel, Ryan Hirst and Micah Johnson were named to the All-Tournament team.

Riley Asmus and Drew Huebner led Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta with 14 and 13 points, respectively.

“Hopefully we can build on this momentum as we head into Central Lakes Conference play,” added Coach Johnson.

Fergus Falls (5-2) is back in action Friday night at home against Brainerd.
