The Ashby Arrows boys’ basketball team was defeated by the Park Christian Falcons, 71-55, on Thursday night in Ashby.  The Falcons held a 30-27 lead at the half.  Ashby had three players reach double figures with Kellen Dahlen and Traeton Nelson tying for scoring honors with 13 points apiece.  Jake Norby was next with 11.  Fred Schlotfeld and Easton Nelson added 9 points each.

The Arrows shot 35% (17/49) overall from the field, including 35% (10/29) from three-point range.  The Falcons had a 30-22 edge in rebounding.

“We played some of our best basketball of the season for much of the game,” stated Ashby Head Coach John Holsten.  “We ran into some trouble down the stretch as we struggled to get defensive stops and lost some composure as well.”

Park Christian had a balanced scoring attack with four players in double digits.  Daniel Swiers led the way with 16 points.  Bridger Carlson and Isaac Jacobson were next with 15 points each, and Gavin Giese finished with 14.

The Arrows go into the Christmas break on a three-game losing streak with a record of 3-5.  They resume action Thursday, January 4, versus Border West in Ashby.
