The Ashby Lady Arrows traveled to Wheaton Tuesday night for a Little Eight Conference match-up. The Warriors jumped out to a quick 10 point lead and never looked back. At the half the Warriors took a commanding lead into the locker room, 43-10. “Despite the half-time score and rebounding advantage the Warriors had, the Lady Arrows continued to work hard, make better passes and execute our offense,” commented Head Coach Eric Schoenbauer. “Coach Nelson and I are emphasizing to the girls the importance of doing the little things, making ball fakes and setting screens.”

The Warriors finished with a 64-18 victory over Ashby.

Senior BrookeLinn Finkelson led the team with 5 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots, Senior Ashley Paulson added 5 points, Sophomore Chloe Finkelson had 5 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block. Lily Balgaard comes off the bench and continues to make a positive impact for the Lady Arrows, Balgaard had 3 points and 2 rebounds. Eighth grader Abby Hokanson, Junior Kaitlyn Finkelson, and Sophomore Mia Thoompson may not be leaders in the stats columns, but they continue to work hard on defense, getting the ball inside, and up the court against the opponents press. The Arrows were without Junior point guard Lucy Ohren due to illness.

"We are making strides and executing our offense, continuous play will be a team focus, so we can get into a flow on the court." stated Coach Schoenbauer. “We're a young team and need to play in the moment and not the past.”

The JV team lost a close game 27-28, with several chances in the last 1:30 minutes to get the win. The Lady Arrows will be in action on Thursday night against Swanville. JV at 5 and varsity 7:45. The boys are in action at home, also vs. Park Christian.
