The Henning boys’ basketball team led 36-26 at the half and put up 41 second half points, while allowing 25. The Hornets earned a 77-51 win over Brandon-Evansville. “We played really well in spurts tonight,” said Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “We jumped out early, but never were able to extend the lead until midway through the second half. B-E plays really hard and made us fight for everything tonight. It was good to see Teigan Bjerke (26 points, 11-15 FG, 4 assists, 5 rebounds) get into a rhythm offensively tonight. He was very efficient.”
Kale Misegades led the Hornets with 32 points on 14-of-23 shooting. He also dished out 6 assists, blocked two shots, had 3 steals and pulled down 3 rebounds. Logan Kostelecky finished with 8 points, 3 assists, and 3 rebounds. Lane Dilly had 4 assists and 6 rebounds.
Henning shot a robust 60% (32-53) from the field and made 42% (8-19) 3-pointers. The Hornets won the rebounding battle, 26-17.
Brandon-Evansville shot 34% (15-43) from the floor. They were led by Micah Fuller with 17 points and Tanner Riedel with 15. Dustin Gillespie finished with 8 points.
The Chargers (3-2) will play at Battle Lake on Thursday.
Henning (6-0) will travel to Twin Valley on Thursday to face Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal.
