The West Central Area girls’ basketball team ran their winning streak to six games with an impressive 47-40 win over Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton on Tuesday night. Jayden Styba and Sydney Ulrich led a balanced scoring attack with 10 and 9 points, respectively. Addison Staples and Macy Grosz each had 8 points and Mya Foslien contributed a half dozen.
“This was truly a team effort and team win tonight,” said WCA Head Coach Becca Holland. “You can tell by tonight’s scoring spread among players that it took all of us to pull off this win. I am extremely proud of what this team has already accomplished. We strung together our 6th straight win going into the winter break. We led most of the game with DGF tying up the game 38-38 late in the second half. Our team had to push through fatigue both mental and physical tonight coming off a game streak of Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday. We are all looking forward to some team bonding and family time during the short break.”
The next games for West Central Area (7-2) are in the Pelican Rapids Holiday Tournament starting with Lake Park-Audubon on the 28th.
DGF (1-5) will play in the Moorhead Tournament on Wednesday, December 27 and Thursday, December 28.
