West Central Area led 35-22 at the half on Thursday night and went on to post a 70-38 win over Melrose in a high school girls’ basketball contest. Macy Grosz led the lady Knights with 19 points. She was joined in double digits by Sydney Ulrich with 13. Addison Staples contributed 9 points.
“Overall, it was a great team effort for our team,” said Head Coach Becca Holland of WCA. “We struggled early getting into foul trouble which led to 14 points for Melrose from the free throw line. We gave the team a challenge at half and they rose to the challenge. We continue to grow and learn after each game and I’m excited to see where it leads us.”
The lady Knights (4-2) will travel to Litchfield on Friday night.
