Ella Knutson had a double-double (22 points, 12 rebounds) to lead the Hillcrest girls’ basketball team to a 67-29 victory over the Ashby Arrows on Tuesday night in Ashby. “This was a good team win for us with many people contributing in all areas on the floor,” commented Hillcrest Head Coach Hannah Clark. “Ella led us tonight and Elsa Retzlaff (16 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 steals) had a nice all-around game.”
Aaveah Stender added 10 points and 4 rebounds, Brooke Swedberg had 6 points and 4 rebounds, Natalie Maggert finished with 6 points and 4 rebounds, Emme Berge came up with 4 points and 5 rebounds and Kate Olstad contributed 3 points and 5 rebounds for the Comets.
Hillcrest (2-2, 2-1 LEC) will host Wheaton/Herman-Norcross on Friday night in Fergus Falls.
Ashby (0-5) will play game on Friday and Saturday at the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Tournament at opponents that have not been announced.
